Wayne Olejarz

Wayne C. Olejarz, 60, of Acushnet, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Waban Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the son of the late Walter and Stephania (Motyl) Olejarz.


Born in Acushnet, he had resided in the New Bedford area for most of his life. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Olejarz worked maintenance for the City of New Bedford and took great pride in being caretaker of the grave at Oak Grove Cemetery of Sergeant William H. Carney, a Civil War soldier and the first African American to receive the coveted Congressional Medal of Honor.

Survivors include his son: Arthur E. Olejarz; and his daughter: Stephanie L. Olejarz.

He was the former husband of the late Susan J. Bois.
